FBCRR will continue our support for the ministry of Benjamin and Magvis Loera in Chiapas, Mexico. The goal is to provide a safe, loving, Christian environment for many abused and abandoned children in the state of Chiapas. While part of the team will provide Bible-based classes to women, teen girls and boys, and children in the city of Ocosingo, another group will assist in completing building phase one of an administrative building for Alas de Dios, the future children’s home FBCRR has been supporting.

First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho has partnered with other churches and the Word of Truth Ministries to support the missionary efforts of Benjamin Loera in Chiapas. Previously a pastor in Juarez, Mexico, Benjamin felt God’s call to go to Chiapas to spread the message of Jesus Christ and also open an orphanage in the city of Ocosingo. He currently attends to more than 100 missions in and around Ocosingo and visits 30 to 40 in any year. He will also organize and oversee 13 or 14 special projects, more than 6 Bible schools, and 10 to 14 youth and adult conferences per year. Each year Benjamin organizes and leads a Youth Camp where he teaches witnessing, then sends the attendees (80 last year) out into the community. Recently, Benjamin took a young man (Manuel) into his home to teach and mentor in evangelism. Manuel’s focus is on teaching children. Benjamin also instructs at an institute for Pastors and future Pastors. Benjamin and his wife Magvis are dedicated to teaching the people there about God’s love. They love children and have adopted an abandoned baby from Chiapas and a teenage girl from Juarez.
